Where did you get lavender australorps? Have you posted them on the Australorp breed thread? Someone was looking for them on that thread.

Someone in Ohio. I bought the eggs on ebay because I really liked the pics they had of their chickens (assuming legitimate pics of course), and have decided I prefer the australorps to the orps.

I THOUGHT I found the seller was a BYC person too, but if they're the member I thought, they haven't posted in YEARS. Which is disappointing 'cause I would love it if they'd do a thread on their project.

I saw where some say that lavender australorps are just culled/poor quality lavender orps. But these chicks I have are definitely australorps! We'll see how they turn out, but they're certainly not orps.

Anyway, no I haven't posted on the Australorp thread. I resurrected an old lavender australorp thread and have posted several times on that, but I should put them on the regular one too.

But mine is doubling as a NICU, I have to open it every few hours to tube feed the injured chick.

I have been wanting Coco Morans! Thought I had bought some but they turned out to be barred rocks. Still love my chickens but a big disappointment.

I like my Cuckoo Marans. I really like the egg color. It's not super dark, but the blotchy pattern is really neat. I know that the Marans eggs are supposed to be uniform in color, but I prefer the blotchy. XD

ron do you think I should use papertowel instead of cotton tshirt for a wick?

Uh oh... My humidity is way to high.....

oh no!! mine is up to 58% ....if it stabilizes and doesnt move more in 30 minutes I will add the wick just not sure if should do paper towel or cotton t shirt wick, I have a sponge in my container which I have redydrated and controled with the lid since started incubating......

I cannot help but look inside! Question? What's with the circles around the top of the eggs? Is that something I should be doing?

I think that's just marking where and what size the air cells are.

Lockdown! But not really lockdown because I have other eggs in there that still need turning. Lol!
A dollar for looking? Hmmm. I wonder if I can turn my eggs with a blindfold on?
