6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Wanted to share some cute photos of some of my babies.@FuzzyHens here are some progression photos. The first one is 2 days old, then 1 1/2 weeks and then 3 weeks. They get so big so fast, but I love watching them feather out. I think the 3 week old one might be a roo, his comb is already pretty big.

Thanks for the updated photos...it's really cool to see the 'teen-age' phase!

Congratulations all!

The Trader Joes eggs started hatching after two in the morning. There are at least 5 out with pips and zipping going on.

Cute yellow chicks so the should be pure white leghorns.

Went to check on the last egg in the bator. I'll be danged if that thing isn't still alive?? And there's a v-shaped dip in the air sac were it looks to be working on a pip.

Wow! We'll see. Tomorrow is cutoff.

My fingers are crossed for you!!

Yay!

Thanks for hosting this HAL. I really learned a lot and it was good practice. My upside down chick is alive and improving. It was positioned weird because it was so late in development when I turned the egg. I was sure it was going to die. I told my kids not to help it, just let it rest. Later yesterday it had improve vastly. Big surprise.

The egg with the dent didn't hatch and smells awful. My husband is burying it on our land. So sad, I wish it had hatched. After I got it from under the broody and was able to look at it I could see other cracks had formed in the egg. I don't know if it was from the mamas stepping on it or the growth of the chick that caused it to have more cracks.

Dang-it I was sooooo hoping that one hatched. You know you did everything you could to help it.

Bama- no poop eating for you and you can say "I TOLD YOU SO" LOL
