Somebody, I'm thinking ronott1 but I can't be positive now, explained that using a carton or flat for 'bating makes the clean up a lot easier.

The post is somewhere in the 83 pages of this thread. lol

P.S. If it wasn't ronott1, then I apologize to whoever posted it and to ronott1 for false name-dropping...hmm false name-dropping X 3. lol

I did post a picture of the cut down egg flats recently.

I really like using them.

whew! so it wasn't false name-dropping. I was sure it was you. lol BTW, I sent you a pm, I didn't really want to clutter up things in here with off-topic questions. lol

its the lg 9300. I have 1 and have had some good and some bad hatches. It will not work like the older 9200. The heating element in the 9300 is only 4inches square. Imho it needs a fan kit

Thanks for the info. Lucky for me being in the middle of nowhere, my local TSC was still stocking the 9200, so all solid state, nothing digital to get fried by my electrical co op & still have the nice hot tube running all the way around making the still air situation workable. What a relief!

So I'm gonna spend part of tomorrow getting everything clean, put in place & 1 bator hot, as I'll be setting duck eggs on the 4th (I may go w/ an early run of chickens to fill up that bator since the LG are so touchy about being full to keep even temps, & b/c the oldest of these eggs are already pushing 10 days so I'm going to increase my odds of chicks by doing a run in w/ the duck eggs. of course that makes everything else more complex, since I'll still have a bator of chicken eggs set dec 11 for the hatch along). everyone now as confused about my staggard setting & hatching plans as me ;? if not then just ask me what breeds that will take til hatchalong2016! (basically mutts from 4 flocks, w/ a few possible pure Marans , birchen & Blue Cooper, which btw will as Marans do likely hatch 2 days late just b/c they feel like it).

I will get to the pm tonight or tomorrow.

They were good questions.

It is so much fun running staggered hatches!

Make sure to keep a week between sets.
