I think that's personal preference. I thought a noon setting is what most usually do.

Just out of curiosity, shouldn't we set them at midnight on the 10th so they'll hatch around midnight for the New Year? I mean, that we, we could peep in the new year, right? Just a thought.

They do not hatch exactly 21 days after setting. Some breeds are usually early and some are usually late.

Collected 6 eggs for the day. The past few days was only getting 3 or 4. I have an LG so I might be jumping the gun on collecting hatching eggs for the H-A-L. A few weeks ago I was getting about a doz a day. My buffs are new and have been laying since early August. The 2 year old red sexlink and new Hampshires slowed down recently I guess cuz they were molting. I hope I get some buff bard rock mixes. Rocky (aka Barred rock roo) has been tending them so my fingers are crossed.

I got 7 today. I've been collecting sine the 24th. I will weed out the older eggs when I get enough collected.
I've used eggs as old 2 1/2 weeks old and gave gotten good results. These are just handled here by me so they don't have a lot of handling and being jolted around.

I can get a lot of eggs, just not the breeds that I want. I'm going to get a couple of dozen from a friend but they are just mixed birds and the specific crosses are not going to be known.
