6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

What kind did you get?  I've been so tempted to order fro Papas...he has a great selection.
I just did my 2nd order from papas poultry. He is just AWSOME! Really packs good! I screwed up the first eggs with my stupid incubator.

I got my eggs on the mail today... Can I still wait until the 11th to put them into the incubator?.. Or that's too far away?.. First time doing this and I am so nervous and excited!.. Please let me know what you guys think...

Well, you're in the right spot, you'll get lots of support here from experienced Hatchers. When eggs are shipped, sometimes they have their air cells detached or loose from all the jostling. If you set them right away, don't turn them for the first few days. Sally Sunshine wrote a great article about detached air cells, I believe Ron posted it on page one. Take a look.

My shipped eggs that I purchased from dmrippy came today. She was "eggcelent", to order from and shipped quite a few more than I paid for. This order included barred rocks, cucko marans, lav Ameraucanas, ccl/Sbel, rhodebars, and silkies. I am also including as many of our own mutts as they give us the next three days which will be a white leghorn over wheaten am roo, and lav orph over wheaten am roo.
Lastly I hope to pick up another dozen or so mixed barnyard assortment here locally.
My Genesis is purring along waiting for Thursday, and I am thinking that I may need to plug in my Hovabator 2362N, which is my back up and no where near the ease and consistency of the Genesis. My wife is already a little freaked out by how many eggs we are going to put in, so I had to remind her that setting and hatching are two different things.
