Can I join? My Sussix is on day 2 of sitting on 6 eggs. The roo is a White Faced Black Spanish. I just counted out 21 days and chicks, if there really are any, are due Jan 2.

I have no idea what I'm doing so I'm so happy to find this thread and hope to learn some basics. The hen and eggs are in an elevated tractor that was in no way constructed to accommodate chicks. Ho boy, here we go. We do have a seperate big tractor that sits on the ground. I guess the hen and brand new chicks can be moved on 1/2. I'm afraid to try to move her right now, I'm afraid she'll startle badly and may damage the eggs.

Welcome! Im on day 2 also with a broody. I set my eggs one day late and they are due to hatch Jan 2nd also.

What breed is your broody and what is she hatching?

In spite of all the posts about wanting to candle now, I'm doing very good at keeping distracted.

It just takes studying my Bible, making an animation, working on my spreadsheet, checking the HAL thread and playing Sims 3 to keep me from the 'bator. Though I must admit that it's getting more difficult every day. I must resist until 12/18! I can do this!!! I must! The fate of the free world depends on my resolve...well okay, the fate of my eggs...hmm, not really that either...I need a fate!!!!! Something must depend on me resisting!!!

My...will...is...crumbling! Can't...resist...must...candle...NO! I WILL RESIST! Guess it's time to break out the Madden games too!!!

LOL I have started my compost pile in the chicken run, started my garden bed along the chicken fence line, installed deer fencing around my garden reinforced my chicken free range area...... sewing several christmas baskets and prettys to the baskets made ribbon bows for the canning jars with christmas ornament , cleaned all of my fish tanks, installed new background with christmas wrapping paper I found for the tanks, repotted half my greenhouse smashed a wall in my spare bedroom and rebuilt it with a linen closet(currently varnishing and staining the s trim and the door
