the first time I tried incubating, I got Olive egger eggs. It was not the best idea for a first time! I could barely see anything. I had one hatch that was literally opaque, and I was never able to see through at all. Now that I'm addicted to hatching, maybe I should invest in a good candler. What is the one you use?

My DH made me one..with a large bean can, it is attached to a clamp..a lamp clamp. A nice tight clamp, it sits pretty still while candling. Works great.

I tried putting a light bulb inside an oatmeal canister, I could see through the eggs like gangbusters, even the marans, but it got way too hot XD

After not candling, it looks like we've got embryo spots in all the eggs!

I am, 12 Muscovy Duck eggs.

Nope, She laid them and then sat on them.. I didn't even know about this HAL and she just so happened to start sitting on her clutch the exact day she was supposed to for the HAL, so I joined. That sounds like an informative thing to compare!

My daughter was at Wal Mart and so I told her to look for that flashlight and it is apparently the one Ozark that they don't have.

But on a funny note, my 3 yo grandson was playing his his cars and was doing the voice over for their conversation. It went like this:

Two cars, one on top of the other.

Bottom Car: Will you let go of me?
Top Car: No
Bottom Car: Will you please me go?
Top Car: No
Bottom Car: Do you love me?
Top Car: Yeah
Bottome Car: Then let me go.
