6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I am amazed!

16 of 24 Trader Joes Fertile eggs are developing--I spent $2.99 a dozen for those eggs! The expiration day on them was 12-31--It should have been a hatch date on the carton!

The Blue Australorp eggs have 8 of 11 with veins and they were shipped!

This is all great news

It has become one of the "to do" things for hatchers.

Someone is already interested in getting pullets from my hatch.

Does this count as a HAL egg?

OMG I am freaking out. Anyone who knows me on Facebook please tell no one, not even husband knows yet! (Thinking Christmas shocker as we have 4 already....)

So while my chicken HAL eggs don't seem to be doing well, this human one sure does!
Congratulations! You and your DH seem to have a100% fertility rate.

hatchery quality or show quality?
LOL

Stupid autocorrect...better half
Oh my word my family is looking at me like I am a complete loon. LOLOLOL

She is a sweaty pie
Just lost it completely... and BTW if you bring dessert to a potluck I am NOT eating it.

I am seriously scared about this so thank you all for helping me make light of this and celebrate! :)

I know what it's like to be scared, shocked...OVERWHELMED to find out you're pregnant! But, it's still an amazing and beautiful thing. I hope we'll get to share a little bit of your adventure, even if it's "a later HAL."

Congrats. Shake some of that "baby dust" in a vial and rig a contest so I win it okay? I can hatch and rear chickens like nobodies business, but we can't seem to make a baby. Maybe that's why I have more chickens than I am supposed to

:(

That's a difficult place to be.

But, maybe your chicken collection will prove useful... ya know, egg whites are supposed to be wonderful for trying to conceive! And, I don't mean for breakfast. ;)

I had my last two babies at home with midwives, this time due to my health it will have to be in a hospital and I really hope I can beg them to take everything out. LOL I love all my children but I am too old for this!

Too old? No way! My mom is now raising her two GREAT granddaughters.

And, WOW, do you have a lot of silver lining...! You will have to get more chickens now. All of BYC will have an excuse for another HAL. AND, finding out a week before Christmas? OH the possibilities that supplies! ;)

It's a good thing too, 'cause I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow... er, today.

No prize for that but @Bamadude will probably try to fine you $20 for being slow to candle! He has tried to fine everyone else lmao

Question:

The lone duck egg has in in the incubator peeping for the last 24 hours, no external pip. He is due out today. I leave him alone right...... but is there a point I can help? I always try not to help as I know that is the general advice but.....

It's been a full 24? I'd watch and listen for the morning. At the most I'd make a safe hole quickly, mist the egg then lock it back down. Just my opinion. :)
