As the egg gets further into incubation, you will no longer see the veins and sometimes will not see the chick move inside. It is all normal and expected.
Good stuff!
I have several pips this morning..saw one last night, woke up to 10, now have 12! I think I will have some babies by tonight. The first one to pip is a small silkie/fizzle mix. This morning, I had so many I was having a blast counting. Most were from friends, not sure if some of you saw my saddle air sac egg. It's pipped, at the wrong end. Will be watching it. Poor thing is probably going to have a hard time turning in there.
no I believe cynthia had eggs incubating before she was doing a staggered hatchWait! Are these the HAL eggs??? Already???
*runs to the incubator to check for pipping.* ugh, nothing yet. slow pokes anyway. <sigh>
I was feeling so calm and relaxed about this hatching thing as the embryo started developing (thats the hard part right) now I am plagued with worrys over everything![]()
Ah, so she's teasing us! I see! LOLno I believe cynthia had eggs incubating before she was doing a staggered hatch
That's so sweet of you ccnbuck! I have some concerns about moving developing eggs though.. and I don't want to mess up your hatch rate either! I'm just going to let her hatch some eggs from my standard sized chickens this time. It sounds like you'll have some cool chicks! I would love to get some lavender ameraucana and silkie eggs (or mixes of the two!) from you in the future though. Maybe we can trade some hatching eggs in the spring!@StarMeKritten We are in neighboring counties. I can give you a few Lavender Ameraucana eggs and some silkie eggs that I'm not sure who the roo is. It could be the silkie roo or a big beautiful LA roo. They are eggs that I set on the morning of the 11th for the HAL. I really don't need all the chicks that I set and it will give you a chance to stay in the HAL.
