Solo has punched a larger hole but hasn't zipped yet. And I heard a peep! Well, more like a mini screech. Probably half peacock.


I've locked down the six eBay eggs. If the Fates are kind there may be more than the two that are anticipated....the air cells and darkening in the shells look correct, but just cannot see the chicks.

Ron, did you lock down your TJ eggs and the blue babies yet? We should have a Saturday hatch-off.

Speaking of... Has anybody weighed in on the East Coast with a potential chick yet?

Finally!!!! A Pip!!!

Had two eggs with a pip in them at 11:10 est. Here is a picture of our broody pen with the two broody mamas in the table/nest box. No drafts. Heading back out.

I will lock down the eggs in the morning.

No word yet on Midnight hatches. I might hatch them in the Brinsea this time.

Watch the crack and see if it moves. Also, of it looks like it is trying to zip and not moving, it may be stuck.

It will be time to help tomorrow of it is not out. I may be out in the morning though.

I t is 9 o'clock I have 2 chicks hatched One from and brown egg one from a green egg. They are already fluffy so must have hatch a hour or so ago

I just had a chick hatch on day 19. Imho thats not a good sign

A very strong chick will break out of a shell like the hulk.

For helping, you want to wait 24 hours. The chick may have broken off his egg tooth when it pipped that big hole. They cannot zip without the egg tooth.

I hope you get to see it pop out. A piece of the shell sometimes gets stuck on them then. I had one with the bottom half of the shell stuck to it's but. It was very funny to see.
