Ive had a few wrong end pips/hatches!! Whjat causes it??

My grandson seems to be catching the hatching fever. The incubator is in his room and it has a window door in the bator. He took a flashlight and shown it into the bator and came running and said " Pops one just hatched in one if the strawberry cartons". I have specific crosses in them I have four of them in thee. It is one of my NN out if Crjssbred hens eggs. Looks like it will be a buffish color.

Any thermometer needs to be calibrated. Cheap thermometers from walmart are not accurate enough. The Brinsea spot check is the best and cost is less then shipping on most hatching eggs.

I don't get mine at wally world got it from petsmart but it read good for most of it then just went crazy . I'm looking at some from incubator.warehouse now to try

I sat 450, 2 weeks worth from my own birds. I've moved 120 chicks to the brooder so far, but there are still a lot more in incubator.

What method do you use to prevent shrink wrapping? I also have a cabinet incubator. There is no great way that I have thought of for me to sneak out the chicks.

Still no pips yet!!! Starting to worry. That egg that was chirping yesterday is quiet today.Congrats on all the new chicks everyone!!

Seven pips now.. One is a wrong-end, like middle ways down the egg. There is nothing actually coming out but I THINK the membrane is the slightest bit discolored. Hard to see with the carton/shadow so close
