I bay "Layena" its the store brand at the local Feed & Supply Store (D&B). It costs about $15/50 lb bag of 16%, and about $20/50 lb for 20%. Although it takes so long for me to go through the feed, that the prices change each time I go in there.

Your large duel purpose chickens those over 6.5 as adults do better on higher protin than 16%. Your light wieght chickens do good on the 16%. It take more protien to build all that meat on your duel purpose chickens. Also it is a good idea to increas protien right before molt since feather are protien. Helps them go thre it faster and with better feather.
