Wow, he looks huge for 6 weeks! I'm no expert but I'd be very surprised if he were a pullet.

I have mixed age chicks but the age variance is only 3 weeks. I wouldn't put a day-old with 6-weekers but I would try an older chick with a controlled introduction. Or, follow another poster's mantra (if a roo, replace it with two) and start two littles to introduce when the size difference isn't so great.

I am not a sexpert but I would say roo. I have 2 EE's right now that are 5 wks and their comb is barely bumped off the head and not red at all. Hmmmm Roo to me. But he is good looking.

It's confirmed. Last week he started "clearing his throat." This morning he was crowing at 5:15 in the morning. He's not to a full blown crow, but he's well on his way. Got to get him out of the city before I find out how far I can push my neighbors
