7 month hen stopped laying

I read somewhere that if the chickens get too fat they will not lay eggs.

Yeah. I think that's why ours stopped laying. I also think that the rooster knew she wasn't healthy, and thus the reason he's been pecking her away when the rest of the flock eats or when he finds something delicious for his harem.

Interesting!  Our Plymouth rock is rather fat, too.  However, the RIR we have that is her "sister" is even fatter and she lays an egg almost everyday.  I figure if she hasn't laid in 6 months it will be time to cull her since there is probably something wrong with her.  Our rooster gets along fine with her, she isn't molting, she's not old, and she isn't broody, so maybe it is a health problem.  

Sometimes genetics is weird. Sometimes there's no definitive answer. It might be a health problem. It might be that her body just is not producing eggs anymore.

I'm having the same problem! I've got 2 ducks, Gogan is laying a small egg every day and Solstice stopped laying recently. They were born start of March 2015. Gogan laid her first egg 18 July and Solstice started laying late July early August. They both seem healthy ( they're eating and drinking and plenty of space to free-range). Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem! I have a beautiful re who laid for about 8 months 4/7 a week . Odd shaped egg very pointy. Then she had a hard quick molt! So, months went but. She was all fluffy looking. like she is brushing her feathers with a hidden mirror in the coop. She began to lay about 6-7 eggs and stopped again. It's been Another 3 months and nothing... She has every feather inn perfect place but is a bit on the big side. Or it's the massive feathers she has. She's one of my first. I feed her everything needed! Oyster shells, grit, ACV, plain Greek yogurt, seeds, layer food, grower food, veggies, fruits grit, ACV, plain Greek yogurt, seeds, layer food, grower food, veggies, fruits ......... I can not figure it out! No egg eaters and every one else is doing great! Any thoughts? I hate to get rid of her but she's not paying rent. Any help would be great!

I'm having a problem with one of my hens. She has laid two eggs in 6 months. I feed her grower/ layer mixed flock. . Seeds, veggies , ACV , Greek yogurt ...... I could go on and on! I have dewormed her two times. Yet i have never visibly witnessed any worms or mites. She was molting for about 3 months. So I didn't think much of it. Now it's 6/7 months loosing track. What could possibly be wrong ? I have 10 other hens with her. Everyone else is laying . I have a cockerel I will introduce in a few months. I'm clueless on what else to do for her. Any advice would be awesome!
I also use DE and poultry dust. I clean coop every weekend with vinegar then I put dust everywhere both kinds. I even put it on the birds and in dust bathing areas. No other hen have any problems . Confused !!! Thank you in advance! ahes I me a year and a half old .
