7 week old black copper maran. Pullet or cockerel?

I would expect a bright red comb and big matching wattles from a cockerel this age. Some breeds develop early combs as pullets.

I have an olive egger pullet(bcm mix) that has always had quite the comb. I'm leaning pullet

Thats what It thought to, though had to get another opinion.

At 7 weeks in my opinion that is a girl. By now a boy would have a noticeably larger and red comb along with wattles. Plus my boys start getting their copper coloring along their hackles by about 5 weeks and this little girl has nothing yet.

One of the first chicks I hatched out this year. He was about 4 weeks old next to his sister. You can already see the wattles, difference in both size and color of the comb.

Your BCM has a bigger comb than my pullet BCM at the same age, but it's not outlandishly big. It could go either way.

Was it a he or a she? I have a 7 week old BCM with an yellow orange comb a bit smaller than your chick's and no wattles yet so I'm hoping your's is a pullet.
