7 week old chickens

Thanks for the advice. That's interesting with outdoor brooder and feathering faster. if I expand the coop and get more birds I will try that. The coop does have ventilation on the top. Although I have been thinking of adding a extra hole with coop wire on the other side for better ventilation. I am a bit worried about the bantam roo because I'm not sure if is neck is fully feathered. He has been feathering out so slowly. I caved last night and brought them in. but when I saw them they were piled together and Pikachu the bantam had his head tucked underneath the pile. I put them all back out this morning. Tonight should be better as it doesn't drop below 40.

I have 2 naked necks who have zero feathers on their neck. They're 5 weeks old and have been off of heat since 3 weeks old. We have been in the 30s at night. They're fine. Chicks huddle for a while before they figure out how to roost. Mine are already roosting but that's because they're with my bigger hens and have seen them doing it. Ho estly, you're not doing them any good by sheltering them. They will adjust just fine.
