Get one of these, it will turn your one-plug outlet into a three-way. Walmart has them as does Home Depot, Menard's, any hardware store, and they're cheap. Buy a handful, they're quite useful. If you have double plugs in your house, get a 6-way. You'll never go back!

Thanks! Will definitely get some for indoors. Are they ok in an outside outlet? That is the only reason I haven’t used one yet…I have a single utility outdoor extension cord plugged in for the water.

Oh. Um ... doubtful, if exposed to the elements. Talk to someone who works there, maybe they have a suggestion for an outdoor version, or for how to protect it from the elements. Mine is inside the coop.

Well ... that's actually what I have too, but the end of my extension cord is inside the coop. I have one of those three-way outlets plugged into the end of it and it works fine. I plug two lamps and my baby monitor into it and it works fine. The lamps are only plugged in when I'm out there cleaning, not all the time, though. Does that help?
