We let our broody EE hatch some eggs we got from a breeder-- they are BCM roo over EE hen. I'm really hoping all three are girls and anxious to know for sure!
Chick 1 was fast to feather out, has a light (yellow/flesh colored) pea comb and nearly solid black body.
Chick 2 was fast to feather out, has a dark (blue-black) single comb and solid black head/neck with variegated black/gray body.
Chick 3 was slow to feather out, has a dark (blue-black) single comb and solid black head/neck with lighter variegated black/gray body.
At 7 weeks with no redness in comb/wattles, can I hold on to the hope of all three being pullets? Does speed of feathering out and the lightness of their body feathers give any clues about their sex?
