7 week olds bragging pics!

CW are a sexlink cross (white leghorn hen over California gray roo). Sounds like your leghorn and BR are like my CW and Dominiques. They always ranged together because they had similar personalities.

Ah! Thats just funny! I have to do some more research on the Dominiques. I need to figure out what the difference is from a BR. They look so similar! I love that our friendliest birds are the ones that look identical!

Great breed choices.. Now is the gray-ish silver Easter egger a bantam? She looks lovely~ So are your wyandottes, barred rocks and Rhode islands.. Oh and is that an andalusian i see? :love:love Beautiful beautiful birds!

YES! That grey-silver one is an Easter Egger bantam. The only one that has no name yet. We've named all of them after musicians. I don't have an Andalusian. After some google (haha) to figure out which one you're talking about, she is a Blue Favaucana. A MyPetChicken bird. It's supposed to be a Faverolle and Ameraucana mix they created.

Here are the breeds I got!
- Silver Laced Wyandotte
- White Leghorns
- Barred Rocks
- RIRs
- Blue Splash Maran
- Black Astralorp
- Easter Eggers
- Blue Favaucana
- Buff Brahma Bantams
- Easter Egger Bantam

Dominques and BR are related from what I recall. I believe their breeds were standardized as people separated the rose combs Doms from the BRs. I attached one of my favorite pics. They always foraged like this... two by two.

Wow! Beautiful Doms. I love their rose combs. I feel like their white bars are also a little bigger than BR. More even barring unlike the BR pullets that seem to have a heavy dark bar. I didn't see a picture of them foraging, just of the 6 girls roosting. So sweet!

The Doms barring is wider because they are Roos. They also have the loveliest feathers. So soft!

I have three BR in the brooder right now and I can tell I have one male and two females due to the barring differences. Females are darker and Males are lighter.

FYI... my Doms started crowing at 12 weeks. :barnie

Here's a couple of pic of them preparing my tulip bed earlier this fall.

Good luck with your new babies, btw. Raising chicks is a wonderful hobby.

That is just so funny! My four also do everything together. Two by two. Ah - now that makes more sense. I didn't realize they were all roos. What sweet birds you have.

Raising chicks is so rewarding! It was hard at first... constant attention, making sure they're warm enough, have enough food, clean water, pasty butt, active etc. But in a few weeks you get to see your babies become adolescents. Then in a few months... laying pullets. This has been such a fun challenge. I am both thankful the baby stage is over but also missing it already. Just like human babies huh? LOL

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :celebrate:wee:yesss::clap
