7 wks - Marans - pullets v cockerels?

New to byc looking for input on my 8 chickens. The first is the black copper maran and the second is the french wheaten maran at 7 weeks old

Pretty certain the Black is a cockerel and the Wheaton is a pullet.

anything with a comb that big this young is a cockerel.

Agreed. The Wheaten can be ruled a pullet by her colouring; males are very different, a lot more black and red.

wow! i keep thinking a have at least 2 roos and now that i see yours NONE of mine have combs that big! Mine are 7 weeks also well maybe 8 now. My one Silkie is HUGE and i heard a kind of crow this morning. Oh i simply cant wait to he able to tell!

great, thanks guys. the cockerel is my husband's favorite because he's always first to the door and eat out of his hand. that should have been sign #1 eh?
