7 year old hen

I have a 7 yr old hen. The last of her flock. I don’t want her to be alone. But should I put her in with existing flock with rooster? Would that be too much for her being old? She’s never been around a rooster does this matter? Help I don’t want her to be alone.

You might try taking another hen and putting it with her for a couple of days, then add another hen. Then add another hen. Put the group into the flock. This way the older gal will have friends with her when she is introduced to the flock.

I would be cautious about putting her in with an existing flock by herself. They may just attack her and try to kill her. I've seen it happen. I think the idea of adding a hen or two with her may work out better. I usually have a separate pen inside the henhouse where i can let the other chickens get used to having her with them although separated. It's not the rooster you have to worry about. Hens can be a lot meaner.
