GOOD FOR YOU!!! I'm 72 and started our first flock a couple years ago. Just about the same age.
I've loved every bit of it and don't find anything too intimidating or taxing. I climb up into my step-up coop over the run and give it a clean-out every 6 months or so. I haul the 40# sacks of feed and the cubic yard bales of bedding with the help of a folding hand cart. I keep my waterers filled with a tap we had installed just outside the run. There isn't anything I've found that I can't handle and don't thoroughly enjoy at my advancing age and, in fact, I think keeping my chickens keeps me active and happy. I know my girls keep me smiling!
I'm sure it will do the same for you. And welcome to this fantastic site!
