The problem with Oraganic stuff is not everyone labels it unfortunately.
In SA you would never know if you are buying orangic/GM corn or any other product.

I honestly couldn't care any less.

NONE of us are going to be alive 500 years from now. ALL of us will die at some point. Be happy with what you have and stop worrying about every little thing that happens with foodstuffs that are designed to increase the food surplus for other cultures that can hardly afford food to begin with.

Modifying genes isn't going to kill us, it will make crops more productive to feed the masses. We do need to maintain diversity despite the need to be economical. I began small scale farming/homesteading about 12 years ago because I didn't like what I was seeing with our food supply becoming 'industrial'. I even study and use wild plants, weeds, as food sources and am often astonished how much that grows in my yard and along the roadside is great food.

If you want to be real concerned about foodstuffs worry about the hormones and antibiotic use. That is what will kill.
