7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

Woohoo! i just set 18 eggs! I'm so excited/nervous. This is my first time incubating eggs and i received the incubator for my birthday.
I'm worried about this incubator because i've had problems with it since the moment i've been testing it out. The automatic egg turner was broken(plastic piece broke) so i had to glue that and made sure it still worked. It seemed to be hold temps pretty well.
Although i'm worried about the humidity since i don't have anything else to test it with until christmas(getting a hydrometer as a xmas present) and i'm not sure exactly what i should keep the humidity at. I have it at around 30% right now.
Also when i put the eggs in i went to reset the days (its marked at 7 days since i've been testing it out) and it wont reset! It just resets the count down time for the egg turner! So now i'm worried that the days will bet all off and if the incubator do anything weird after if gets to 18 days or if it will keep doing what it usually does.
Good hatching!

Can you call the manufacturer for tech support?

I got my AC eggs from Pyxis!!!!! They look good. A couple air cells are a bit saddled but the rest look great!!!!! Ready for the HAL!!! Oh and she sent me a few hybrids as well so I can have 6 eggs incubating!!!! I will be setting at 10 pm tonight after they have their 12 hour rest.

Ok...I'm SO envious right now.

I set my chicken eggs, but I know there are four more outside, I really can't do it! If I set the ones that are out there, I will set the ones on the counter and the ones in the fridge. I have to resist!

I don't even know the brand of the incubator. I've found it online but i've never found any troubleshooting questions. the manual just says to press the reset button. heres a picture i took of it
Thanks for posting the picture!

I tried a google image search and it was not found.

Is there a model or serial number somewhere?

You know you want too....

Are you afraid of:

I am hatching silkies this time. Never have hatched them in the winter..will see how it goes having chicks in the house for a while.. :/ But, they should be really nice.
Hatched these cuties this last spring.

One of my whites, I had just trimmed those eyes, and a SG. Turned out to be a Show Boy! :)
Nice looking chickens you have there!

What colors do you breed? Is there always a chance of a Show girl in each batch and also how well do show girls fair in winter?

There is nothing on it at all, i found an ebay listing of the same one but it does not name a brand or anything...so weird! I cant find any more information about it after that. Heres the link to the ebay incubator. I hope its not against the rule to post links.

I need to get stuff done while the baby naps. Maybe that will take my mind off of hatching (which is ALL I dreamed about for two nights out of three now!) and candling.
And for all the times someone has said, "Two outa three aint bad"...
