The first Whole Foods chick has hatched--It is Yellow!

I think it will be white.

That is a hatching tray I bought several years ago. They work great! After the hatch I put them into the dishwasher.

The second chick is out now--Another yellow chick.

So happy to hear of all of the success! So sad to hear of some loss. :/

It just hit me how neat this is that all of these babies are hatching around the same time for us. Us, here on BYC. I wish I could hear some of the noise going on when you go look into the bator and see a baby..well, even the first pip. I see my first pip and I'm saying..to my DH...I have a pip! I wonder how many times he's heard that in the past 4 or 5 or how ever many yrs. I've been hatching. lol...

I wonder what the breed is that Whole foods uses. If they are white and lay brown eggs, Are they using White Rocks?

I took a quick video of the second Whole Foods chick to hatch. It was just out of the shell.

Chick #5! 9 pips too!

5 baby ducks doing fine. 4 eggs left, no pips, no noise. We'll see how it goes.
