7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

This is from early this morning.
There are more in there now but I am out getting icecream! It's also easier to post pictures from my phone than transfer them to the computer then post.

Anyone else use puppy pads in the brooder?

Watch it and let it go as long as possible. Hopefully it will get out on it's own but you may need to help.
That is not right!

I have had that happen with an old line Delaware hatch.
I still have no idea why that one batch of chicks were all malpositioned. The chicks that all hatched perfectly yesterday are from the same parents....Must have been an incubation problem?

I can't even log off properly in my delirious state of overtiredness...came in this morning and I'm still logged in.

I thought I had logged out. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I never log off...I just keep the page up and it looks like I'm always lurking. I'm usually outside though

I can't keep up either, though this thread is easier than Sally's Hatching with Friends, which I try to stay part of....

Here is my first cutie....

I have one silkie out that looks like it might be lavender :fl and a few zipping very slowly. I had several malpositioned chicks, not sure why, I lost a few already that didn't make it through the night :(. I am hoping I end up with six or seven. I have one more Serama that I helped this morning that looks good.

But I'm so quiet. My roosters don't even know I'm at the farm in the house.

(I LOVE them too)

(Maybe I have too many roosters.)

And I forgot how LOUD the chicks are! WOW!

We were playing a board game when the first chick announced it's arrival. Whew...it had a nice set of lungs. I'm SO glad that the other chicks have arrived so they're quiet. I have my bator at the office (old farm house where the coop is too.) I can leave it and go home and not hear the loud cheeping. You guys do well to have them nearby...lol.
How did I forget they're that loud?

Sometimes I use puppy pads in the brooder and as liners for the dog beds...

I'm coming over for ice cream!
