7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

First chick finally hatched and is making her presence known! Very noisy in the bator and knocking all the other eggs all over the place. Hopefully she settles down and relaxes till morning lol

I think she will. Still figuring out how to work her legs

I had one that was on his back and looked like he was bicycling. He did that for quite a while before getting up, and then he was a pro at standing. I never said anything about his walking skills...

That is another story! They almost waddle!

It is really cute how they do that. Mimi is the calmest and I often carry her around with me. All she wants is for me to hold her

I have one Easter Egger, (Scammed, thought she was Ameraucana till she laid an olive egg) she's orangish, more tan I guess, with gold lace. She always separates herself from the others and squats to be picked up. She loves the house.

Some people do that. Hopefully they were just sold to them as americuanas and didn't realize they were EE's. I have been wanting an olive egged. Might try to breed one.
That means more hatching!!

Just had another chick hatch (olive back yard egg). I only have one more of those to hatch and it hasn't pipped yet. The legbar mix(backyard egg also) chick looks like it is about to start zipping. The rest are marans.

Of my backyard eggs it would seem my hens took a particular liking to the feather footed rooster this go around. All the backyard chicks has some degree of feathering down the legs.
