I hit a bunch at a yard sale. I do not wash them.

Once I get them cut to fit, I find it easier to wash them.

I guess it comes form having Grand Parents that went through the Great Depression. I find it hard to toss good things.

I would say go ahead and crack one open and check. If not fertile then wait a week and crack another.

well I cracked three for dinner last night and two of the three were fertile. For youngsters and almost Dec. I think that was good. If anyone needs eggs for the hatch near me in SW Missouri let me know.
