7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

No luck locating my eggs.

After 2 1/2 hours, I got a call back from usps. Basically they could not tell me exactly where they were so I could go get them. She could not give me any more info than I could see myself on the tracking website. She said Priority Mail 2 day or 3 day is not "guaranteed" (only expedited next day is guaranteed, apparently) and that they don't scan it at each point. So basically they had no answer other than "sorry for the inconvenience"

and it looks like my eggs will be delivered Monday.
3 days late.

Is it considered an obsession if I am hatching chicks at the same time I am putting more in for the hatch-along? My husband says ok honey 200 chickens is our limit. He likes teasing me about my fuzzy babies.
Nah, completely normal

You could do like me and not count them so you don't have to confess when you get to 200! DH is still thinking it is around 75, but since I haven't counted I don't really know. 24 eggs set for the hatch-along, 19 Eggs pipping now in the other bator, 28 -2month olds, 6 -5 week olds, 5 -4 week olds and 5 - 2 week olds in the brooders and a broody with 6 under her....No problem here.

BONUS! I'VE GOT A BROODY! and hubby doesn't care if I giver her some eggs :) she's a first time broody and is 11 months old. She's a favorite of all of my roosters and even with a hen saddle, she's rather rough looking. The tops of her wings and her back are bare. I'm hoping that by giving her some eggs, She'll get a break from the boys and molt afterwards. I'll be giving her eggs tomorrow morning :)

400
400

You have to stop at 200?!?! Well, it isn't like he can count them! Besides, roosters are protection, hens lay eggs (food) chicks are undetermined, and if its named, it's a pet. All of those don't count!

Be sure to give her eggs that you don't care if you lose. She may indeed be broody, but from what you describe, she may just be hiding in the nestbox to get away from the boys.
