well I missed it. I hatched way to many chicks this year anyway. Hope to hatch a few Easter hatch if the right girls lay. HAPPY HATCHING to everyone I'll being watching you all enjoying your hatches....
Fighting the addiction of hatching way to many birds already......But they are so cute.......

You missed it? I also have hatched too many during this winter. And, winter isn't even half over. I don't usually hatch that much in the late fall or early winter, I like waiting for this hatch a long. But, I have some in lock down right now. Trying to get a white paint silkie.

I have a paint rooster left and black hens and 2 showgirl hens. I don't know if I will get any paint chicks from them, they haven't started laying yet.

Oh wow, you have a SG with the paint boy? That's what this is..Paint Silkie, with a SG hen. She is dark, but I did get a paint this last hatch, just not looking like I want, and, these two have thrown a paint SG before, so that would be great too!

Yes and I would love love love a paint showgirl! I think that some of my black silkies are split lavender so I am not sure how it will play out. I love paint, lavender, porcelain and black.

Lock the door! Get a guard dog!

Move the incubator to work or somewhere safe... keep those little hands away from the bator!


I know. Now the girls have gone shopping and I'm the kid sitter so if anything happens it will be on me. Once they are back I'm going to the shop and install a lock on my thermostat dial. Since I made it out of thin plywood I can just drill a small hole into it and the coolerbator and install a screw. Simple really. Right now kids are more interested in playing their computer games.

Oh wow, you have a SG with the paint boy?  That's what this is..Paint Silkie, with a SG hen.  She is dark, but I did get a paint this last hatch, just not looking like I want, and, these two have thrown a paint SG before, so that would be great too!

This is making me happier than you know, because I was so sad about the silkies I lost and they were 6 months old, but now I feel more excited about the possibilities from the ones I have left. And.. I am excited to see what comes out of my current hatch, I have 13 silkie eggs left. I had 3 clears and 2 quitters already.

I candled this morning and removed 5 eggs. Three were clears and two were blood rings.

I have 39 developing out of 45!

Great for store eggs.

Are your hens from the store eggs last hatch laying well now or has winter slowed them down? discovered my Trader Joes are only 31/2 months not 4
39 out of 45 is awesome.
