s'ok. He's been great entertainment. He's great at stomping on the hens. So he gets an 'A' for effort. He molted pretty hard too. So who knows.

fixing to candle for the first time....finger's crossed!
The FIRST time?!?![]()

I'm totally out. I candled, day 11, and all I got was glowing eggs and in the lighter shelled ones all I could see was yellow yolk swishing around in there. I took a leap and cracked open two, and nope nothing. I cracked open all 24 and NO development in ANY of them. My guess is that either my new incubator spiked and killed day 1 or 2. OR my Roo, while a great dancer and chicken stomped, is too young, 9 months old. I have seen bullseyes when using eggs for cooking... so who knows.
Bummed, but may set more. Waiting to see if the lady I was setting for wants them 10 days late or just wants to wait until later in the spring.
REally bummed.
...I've always waited a week to candle... 2 of the eggs I traded are infertile. All of mine have some development. A couple eggs are questionable-- they started to develop, but may have died early? I was going to check again in a few days...
