I just set my new batch of duck eggs today, and they got candled! Who waits a whole week?!?!

Day 8! tonight I candled the other 18 eggs of my 38. ALL 38 have veining, good air cells and movement, holy cow! feeling excited, BUT.. still cautiously optimistic. This is my first ever egg hatching and on top of that.. my homemade incubator.. yikes...a LOT could go wrong. I keep reading and reading. My humidity is about 45% today.. temp holding at 99.5.

So far all is good, right? any hurdles I should be keeping an eye on??

My grandson wanted to take a peek on Leonardo, last peek till day 14, so we did. Leonardo, is quite photogenic, don't you think? looks ok, right?
