7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

Looks like Elba, Al may have record flooding.
Again. Their 1998 flood was crazy.
I have had 14.3 inches of rain since Monday morning

That's a lot of water that has to go somewhere. Are you on higher ground? Our rain total for the year to keep us out of a drought is only 20"
If I read it right one report from the South said flood stage was 14' for the river and it was expected to go to 19'. Not good.

Yes we are OK at my house. I have 2 rental properties that could be affected (but heavilly insured).
Elba is in the adjoining county to the east of me.
It got really bad there in 98

There is always something to be grateful for if I remember to look! My son and I are home with strep throat but we don't feel too badly, so we're having some peaceful days together. I will live vicariously, thinking about bread and pies and yummy foods : )

Blessings to you all!

Well I fostered the egg under another pair of pigeons, not sure if they have it in lockdown yet or not

. So I'm just waiting for it to hatch... then I have to wait until it grows feathers and starts walking at like 3 weeks old

. Pigeons are less exciting then baby chicks that are fuzzy and can run around right away.

BUT it is still so exciting waiting for it to hatch!
