7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

I know how you feel I divorced my family last December. I got a txt message from them telling they where taking my mom off life support she had a fire in her apartment it's funny I saw them on Christmas and everything was fine 3 days later they act like They don't know me it's pretty said the only reason I was told becouse she was on the news:rant:mad:

Oh, that's not nice at all of them. But, honestly, death and/or money does bring out the worst in folks.

Family.... Sigh. Splashing the tears in my eggnog as family traditions have me wanting to be near what's left of my relatives...and my sister treats me like a second-class citizen. I phoned her up yesterday to tell her I was making the family recipes and to find out which of the Nor-Cal folks were going to be at her house the next day for dinner and to see if the packages made it and just, well, I wanted some family connection. I got a "Gotta go. I need to clean the house but we're playing some new games and we're learning the rules. Merry Christmas." CLICK. What?? Any of her friends she might've spared a few minutes. Not even a "Let's chat tomorrow or later" But "Merry Christmas" CLICK?? Nice to know where I rate.... But, then, she has flown her flags before. The sad thing is is that she's my closest living kin. Folks gone. No kids of my own. And someday I'll be gone or she'll be gone and this'll seem so, what, trivial. Oh, well. Life goes on and begs forward looking.

Anyway, I realize I'm whining. Sorry about that. Maybe it IS the eggnog.

My therapist husband has pointed out that if it's time to be maudlin, Christmas is a good time to do it and there's lots of company. It can be a happy time, or a poignant time, or a sad time. A few more eggnogs and I won't care and will entertain visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.

Anybody making New Year's resolutions?
What are they?

400

I ended up spending time with my sister today. We were joking around about the fact that her last dog bit my dog in the eye and blinded him. Want to guess what happened right afterward? This dog won't go blind. I know because I'm using a better vet that I'll be seeing in the next week or two. If I get worried, they can be trusted to know if there is a problem.

Ponds are bursting uphill from me.
My Isbar coop just washed away.
Im so bummed.
I have 2 female isabelle leghorns, and a male and a female cream legbar in my house. They are the only ones I could get too

Oh no!

Do you need to evacuate?

I am sorry your family is treating you like that.
