Update...4 days to go and only two are developed normal inside the egg..I had a 90% hatch rate out of the eggs from my own farm. I'm really hoping I get a pair out of this. Paid $60 for 6 eggs! :/

I think it is the shipping, same thing happened to me a while back, I bought 7 blue copper maran eggs none hatched but my own I was geting 90% hatch rate too. sorry good luck with your two.

I had 2 eggs hatch recently, and placed 2 in bater just before the hatch but forgot the exact day, I had wrote on the eggs 2 weeks after the others hatched for when they were due, and then remembered it was not 2 weeks diff between eggs but just under 3 weeks. the eggs are doing fine though, and still veiny and moving. dang though I should have put a date on'm right away. I had to stager them because it was a last chance to get frizzles for me.

Where is the best and worst places to order eggs from. Concidering hatch rate and health and fiture health?

I would say try to get them as close to home as possible and not shipped by air.

Yeah, they were from the next state over...I'm pretty bummed about it. If it doesn't work out, I will probably order chicks in the spring. Depending on how well my next batch does I bought and had shipped from a member on here, I might not order hatching eggs again. But she is located just a few hours from me and the majority of those are developing just fine.

I would say order locally. Best of all is picking some up from a local farm. I will continue hatching my own eggs, but I probably will not have them shipped out of state again.

Is like Southern States what u mean or farmer joe down the road? Where I live SouthernStates would have more selection than farmer joe.

I'm not sure, but so far the best eggs for me are those that are the closest to home.
