8 week chicks plucking themselves .. HELP

how many do you have and what size is the area they are being kept in? What breeds? are the temps being kept right? are they bored?

Maybe they are just too hot. Mine are 8 weeks old and haven't pecked themselves or others. I put a tarp over their coop for shade to help keep them cool and change their water 3 times a day. If you have a small thermometer to see how hot their coop is getting. I took mine off the light several weeks ago when the outside temps went up, mine seemed calmer with no light at night. If you listen to their chirping, it gets louder when they aren't happy.

I think I found out the reason .. I just put a fan that I turned on around 10am til 3pm .. and plucking is over ..

that was the only thing I changed .. same food .. same place .. just some air circulation
