8 week lavender orphington…gender?

Honestly no idea. I got rid of all of them because they were garbage. I kept a couple of hens but people want them so bad I always end up selling them.

The lavenders are SO popular on my local facebook too. Everyone seems to want these backyard bred, scrawny birds with the shredder gene Always confuses me!

Lavs are the worn out swiffer dusters of the chicken world.

I have a few lavender hens, they are very sweet, if yours is 8 weeks and there is a question, very easily look at the legs, males will have the start of the nubs for spurs there, just a spot that is bigger than the rest. But I'm pretty sure you got a lady.

I'm thinking pullet still She looks quite similar to my English Orp pullet at eight weeks three days. I'm not as familiar with hatchery lines, but compared to my birds I would say pullet!

Thanks for the picture! That does look very similar to the amount of comb/wattles I’m seeing. I’ll keep you posted

Actually pullets have spur nubs too! Roosters just grow them out whereas hens can grow out spurs but most of them don't. But I also think that it is a girl too!

Here we are a week later…definitely some more wattle growth, not a lot of change in the comb. Sunday she/he is 10 weeks.
