Hi, thanks for response. We use a suspending type feeder, but on the ground. It is large enough (5kg) to feed our 10 chicks.

Placing it in or on a wider circumference pan can help cut waste from that type of feeder. That type invites spilling, billing, scratching of feed which is wasted....the pan catches it vs it falling into the bedding and they can better clean it up

I think you should feed your chicks 1 or 2 times a day but I feed my chickens 1 time a day but I don't care how much you feed your chicks.
