8 Week old lethargic, weak

Is the crop very full compared to the others?

Did you find out if you can get amoxicillin and what strength it is?

You would be giving the chick about 25mg per day of amoxicillin. If you can find it. It can be given in a bite of food or dissolved in .1ml of water and given into the beak by oral syringe.

Be sure to mix your Corid 2 tsp per gallon of water if using the liquid, or 1.5 tsp of the powder. Make sure that she drinks it. You should also give her 0.1 ml per pound of the undiluted Corid orally once or twice a day as a jumpstart. Some people report taphat crops of young chickens with coccidiosis may feel full and puffy due to a slowdown in digestion. Here is a good link about safely in giving small amounts of fluid or medication to a chicken:

No it doesn’t feel very full at all. I can’t find any antibiotics locally after calling a few TSC. I’m gonna try one place in the morning when they open tomorrow, and in the meantime keep giving corrid.

Thank you, I did do that a few minutes ago to the main water. Her crop doesn’t feel very full at all and more soft.

Is she drinking any better? Amoxicillin is sold for fish as Aqua Mox, formerly Fish Mox. It is available online and possibly from TSC or pet stores (Petsmart, etc.) Many use 57 mg per pound of weight given every 12 hours. A 250 mg capsule can be divided into 5 roughly 50 mg doses, which can be mixed with a small amount of food or yogurt. Let us know how she gets along. Here is an online place to get it without a prescription:
