8 week old rooster attacked

8 week old rooster attacked.

He’s eating & drinking, walked to feeder & waterer (not fully standing to walk - more like crouching).

Skin torn off of breast (no blood) - breast intact.
Hole in top of back - not bleeding at this time.
Can move his neck.

Pain meds?
Cleaning wounds?
Tips to help nurse him back and get him healed.

He has an 8 week old hen with him at all times on a regular basis. Should I allow them together?

Do you know what attacked him?
How long ago did this happen?

It's usually best to separate the injured bird so other don't pick at wounds or even attack them if they are week.

Work him through shock. Give him sugar water or electrolytes.

Wounds need to cleaned/flushed, you can use Chlorhexidine (Hibiclens), Povidone Iodine, Saline or if you don't have those, warm soapy water (rinse well). Trim feathers away from wounds so you can see them better and they stay cleaner.
Apply triple antibiotic ointment to the wounds to keep them moist.
