When did everyone’s roosters’ tail start curling? I’ve had suspicions that one of my Americana’s is a he, due to the bigger and redder comb, but I had just hoped it was maturing faster. But then it developed what appear to be saddle feathers, and now it’s tail is curling. I’m really hoping that’s not the case, because I have a sweetheart that’s been confirmed to be a cockerel by multiple friends, and if they don’t get along one’s going to have to go. Thanks for any input, and I’m currently unable to provide pics for a few days, but I will when I can.

It's too young for rooster specific feathering. That comes in with the adult feathers at 3-4 months of age. At 8 weeks you look to comb color and development. If it's already bright red it's more than likely a cockerel.

I think my Easter Egger rooster started showing some curve to the tail and some saddle feathering about 10 or 11 weeks. (The hatchery where I got him and many of them from what I've seen use the Americana/Easter Egger label interchangeably for marketing.) By 17 weeks he had a full curved tail. Here's my guy below:
Looking forward to seeing your pictures!
