8 week splash Orpington hen or roo?

How can you tell by the tail? Not questioning your judgement, just learning. Thanks!
Slow tail feathering. Almost non existent and I’ve never had a pullet look like that. The rest of him just looks boy.

and again, the wattles. The lack of redness doesn’t bother me. An orpington with wattles at ALL at 8 weeks I would call it as a boy. My females haven’t shown wattles until 15-16 weeks or even more.

Thank you for those details! That’s very helpful

Here are updated pictures at 13 weeks.
He is still not crowing

My last orpington cockerel didn’t crow until 28 weeks. He also didn’t sport the red growing comb until about 15-16 weeks. I still think this is a boy, but, there’s a chance it’s not. (I know. Not helpful

No, that is super helpful. Thank you!!

I'd agree with you, the comb doesn't show the reddening like I'd expect with a cockerel, but the size does appear to fit the bill. The thing that gets me more though is the stance and girth of the legs... that looks cockerel-esque to me. But, I don't have experience with this specific breed so I'll just wait and see what others think. But my vote is cockerel if I had to guess "now".
I'd say roo it's a roo

Update! Myrtle is 20 weeks old today. No crowing yet, and no rooster behaviors like my other breeds of roosters
