If someone dropped a random duck off in my yard I'd send it somewhere else, anywhere else. You have no clue where that duck came from, what its carrying and if it could potentially spread disease through my existing flock.

HaHaHa, if it had happened in California, I bet it would have been my grandma!!! She's 93, and does whatever the #ell she wants!! I can't stop her either, and I challenge any of you to try to change her mind!!

I get a bit ruffled by humans that feel their space has been "violated" by wildlife.... Please.... step in some poop, wipe it off your shoe, and get on with your life!!

Our city cites a waterfowl hunting code to claim it's illegal to feed the birds at the lake. But, it's virtually unenforced unless it becomes a big issue. I would rather have people feeding them then throwing stones and sticks at them. But, so many people bring whole bags of bread, crackers, potato chips and popcorn there. I've even seen Raw rice, beans, pastry and pasta, too. I'm honestly surprised that we don't have any ducks with angel wing there. Non-duck people think it's OK to dump ducks there because so many people feed them and they think they have a good life. But, when the weather changes and no one's there to feed them, they get hungry and aggressive.

I think if everybody stops feeding them the wild ones will move on and the park maybe able to support the ones that are left.

Ok first thing I think it is a dumb law.....all around here there is no ban on feeding the ducks....children enjoy going to feed the ducks. I would feel the same if it was a 20 year old feeding them.

I'm not saying wild geese /wild ducks are not there.......beleive me they are going there for the large body of water, put in a large pond wild duck and geese will come......feed or no feed......

IMO its real wrong when you see duck and geese that are not wild....unable to fly to fields for food........then be forbid to feed them...CRAZY


oh yes i saw tha cart full of bread the old lady had maybe at best 2 bags full....heck i could have carry that cart full just in my hands..


If they want to enforce not feeding the birds , first thing they need, all those that are not wild removed. no starving ducks or geese.

some of my statement are just to prove a point .....like the city forcing some duck and geese to starve......those of you on this forum know you can't keep duck and geese without feeding them.

I agree the wild geese have really got out of hand. More States need to raise the daily limit during the hunting season...just a few years ago it was only two in Ohio......It really is not the fact someone is feeding them. must less one person. Its is the great number of candan geese thats the big problem.

I think the city , just can't deal with this old lady. . like a early post said let her know the harm , heck give her a place near the water to feed the ducks, the would help keep some dropping off the walkway.....some many easy ways to fix their problem.

One City here has a border collie , stays at the park ,his job chase the geese away from some area. If you want to go near the water, with dead fish and goose poop , thats part of a lake.

What is it you have against the people of this town ? The people made a law that they want everyone to follow. Now there's one person that wont. But it seems there's some out of town people that don't like the way the people run their town. If the people want the law changed they will change it.

In this economy with cities laying off workers I am sure there are better things city workers have to do than clean all the bird poop due to the ducks she is feeding, so the city should strike a deal with her, she can feed the ducks if she pays for cost to clean the poop off the walkways.
