We have 84 eggs in the hatcher, another 84 just went into the bators and that is to join our already 200 or so birds of various ages. I think we are crazy.....
Thanks! The brooder is a double decker and its inside a small enclosure that is about 10 feet x 10 feet that we built inside the coop to keep my silkies from getting stomped on by the bigger chickens. The coop is about a 3 car (bumper to bumper) covered carport with a natural dirt floor. We have it sectioned off to keep the bigger chickens away from the littler ones. Hubby is also building another coop a little further away from the house that will hold about 60 chickens with a fenced in yard for them. I will even be able to seperate them by breed in the new coop. The kids are really anxious to do 4H and we are hoping that they will have nice birds to present. We were really excited to get Polish. I had contacted everyone I could find locally with a polish or chicks to see if they had any and didnt have any luck so we decided to order and get a variety. I actually ended up with more than I originally wanted out of an error when placing my order online and I didnt catch the mistake until after it was all finalized and paid for and I didnt want to complicate the order by trying to change it. These chickens really keep me occupied.
As for the crazy comments.....Define Crazy. LOL!!!
Wow that is a lot of chicks. I did not notice any responses to your question asking if the one picture is a SLW. It looks like a SLW but a photo of the entire body would make it more certain.

There are 3 just like her and I am pretty sure that is what she is because of the number of chicks like her. She was most noticable because she is much bigger than the other two, I think that was why she stood out so much more than the others. My other SLW I got when they were about 3 or 4 weeks old and they didnt quite have the same appearance as a day old chick.
There is a couple chicks in there that as soon as I can catch them, I am going to post pictures because for the life of me I can not figure out what they are and have been thru the hatchery catalog a dozen times trying to identify them and still dont know what they are.
