Love the chick with the boots. I just found this thread, very interesting read. My eggs hatched on the 28th of December. I started with 8 eggs, day 7 candle shows one dead. At lock down i had 7 eggs. I had 5 hatch, one didn't make it and another one drowned because i forgot to put marbles in the water. I even new better, so i was pretty upset with myself.
Now these eggs i won the bid on ebay, they were shipped from Wisconsin. I'm in Prescott AZ at 5k ft. So it was a gamble.

Love the color of your chicks!

That's all the eggs hatched! Grand total 3 ducklings and 6 isbars. Looks like I have 2 blues and a splash in this bunch. Super excited!!!!

Congratulations! I love the blues and splash. I usually have a splash silkie, but I want a LF splash really bad.

They engineer elaborate cushion and cages to do the drop. It's a science thing.

Yep. Like teaton said, drop one from 3 ft...and here come the other chickens. I have been lucky that way...so far..oh man...knocking on wood!

Most of these were raised in cages, some indoors. Some the kids outgrew them...some just didn't fit the household. One must've been illegal in a rented home and I've never had anyone make a transaction so fast with me! :gig As we pulled away I think the landlord was pulling up! I bring them home, and keep them like they're used to and get them settled in. Then I acclimatize them to everything and they seem to live happily. They get the foods they were eating...it takes them a while to eat new foods like hay and grain and such. They're all used to rabbit pellets. But they're super smart and catch on right away to us feeding them outdoors. They also catch on to all the delicious hay dropped by the feed machine and the grain that's spilled. They run right up to me in the open to get food. Some stay in the sheds, some are in the barn and some still stay in their houses in their pens...lol They're ALL over. I see today they brought the baby bunnies up to the house. Same with cats we take in. We just took in a 14 year old house cat last year because they were going to put her down. She'd been outside twice I think. She's thriving and shows no intentions of wanting inside! Lovely cat!
We have the same cat!!! This is my Tiger hes an old man now, but I found him as a tiny kitten in a dumpster eaten up with botfly maggotts, I originally thought he was a she and named her daisy but when i took him to the vet they told me he was a boy, long story short he had to have surgery to remove all the worms, he was skinned and his muscles exposed and had blood poisoning from removing the worms, the vet was so convinced he wouldn't make it they didnt even charge me for anything but anesthesia. I decided to give him a fighter name hence Tiger, and i took that baby home in my bra and force fed him for a week,he eventually fully recovered and has been a happy boy every since.

Aww, we have a daughter that has a male and a female. They are fixed, not for breeding..they just loved the breed so much when they got the male, they got the female just a few months back. Beautiful dogs!
