many things that would go in a barn or shop are there...one is my greenhouse
one is my coop.. the other is in the front with no real purpose we have a small propane stove
part of a county a table and plastic chairs but is only used to process cockerels or
olde birds but ares are all under 2

My husband would love your place lol. He's all about geodesic domes and has been looking them up for quite a while. How do they hold up to weather, wear, and tear?

Quote: if you look at my profile you will see the photos I posted ..
the one thing we found is the strength of the tarp 11ml is a minimum
of the weight to hold we had a lighter weight on one we keep mowers and such
it was going bad but managed to hold almost a full year..
our friend Tim builds them here out of pvc and military grade
zip ties

Yes, I would like to know that too!! We live in a real windy area..not always windy, but often, and usually in the mornings, coming down from the canyon.

we have had some pretty darn good gusts ... we did have me almost get taken
off my feet holding onto the tarp on one of the windiest days.. it did lift the dome moving it about 4 feet
to the left.. there we also found it depends if you face in to most common windy areas
the birds it hits there back of theirs face on to the barn to the one side of the greenhouse
the one thing is to secure it well we have 2x4x6 or 2x4x4 with the tarp rolled and secured
to them then there is connecting scraps of the 2x4 from each 2x whatever to the one next to it
just to keep them from being pulled out in a wind

This is so eggciting!!! My DDs and DS and I are setting our very first batch of eggs tomorrow morning, planning on a New Year's Eve hatch day, and I could not be more eggstatic!! I just got my incubator (an early Xmas present from my mom!) and it's been running so I could figure out all the controls and everything, and tomorrow is the big day!!! I'm so freakin excited!!! This is just a practice run, really, as I'm just throwing in a few eggs from my SLW who's in with my Wheaten Am cockerel atm for a couple cute OEs (!!!) and we'll see how it goes. I don't know how good my fertility is gonna be, or how good my incubating skills are gonna be, but I'm SUPER excited to hatch out my own babies! Thought I'd share some pics of the proud parents...

Daddy Hugo:

Mama Astrid:

Checked out the chicken calculator, and it sounds like I'll probably get some pretty golden laced OE girls, and yellow (?) laced OE boys...wonder what that'll look like?? I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to sex them early! Hopefully the boys and girls will look different

ETA: I've decided that if she lays tomorrow and Sunday, those eggs are going in, too. That'll give me a total of 10 instead of 8, which just sounds better!

Thank you!!! We couldn't wait anymore so we put them in the bator, lol!! It was agonizing to wait, and now that excitement is over and we have to wait 21 days!!!

But hopefully it'll be a fun and educational experience for my kids (and me!) and we'll get some cute, fluffy babies for our troubles!! This is fun already!!

You sound hooked already! And you haven't even hatched them yet! Whoot! You will love it when those tiny tots get here!
