I set my eggs today!! I set some Silverbudd Blue (Isbar) eggs and a few of my EE cross green eggs (from the chickens I thought were roosters). I also set the poor Ayam Cemani eggs that traveled around with the USPS for 3 weeks . I got the refund check from the Post office on Saturday and the eggs showed up on Tuesday. I figured I had nothing to lose by setting them. There were no stinkers in the mix. I'll keep a close eye on them though.

So, I really only have hope for the Blue eggs. My EE's that I thought were roos, are in a pen with 2 silkie, 1 Ayam Cemani and 1 barred something roos. I thought there were 7 roos, now it appears there are only 4. I have no idea if the eggs are fertile or not. The AC's seem to have spent those 3 extra weeks somewhere between NH and CA. The outer box was quite dented, the inner box was pristine. But, I didn't dare candle. I just set them all!

Let's hope for a 1/1 hatch!

Lpyrbby, they might hatch just fine so just set them and keep going. Rotate the egg so the turning is perpindicular to the saddling if that makes sense.

I used to wait before setting shipped eggs, but now I set them after resting a few hours in an incubator with higher humidity for a day, then I turn the turner on after 24 hours. After a couple days I turn the humidity back down. This has really helped my hatch rate on shipped eggs, especially the DIS rate.

In my opinion the biggest factor in hatching success is the trip. Often shipped eggs have unseen damage that even the best incubation methods can't fix. All you can do is give it your best shot! Good luck.

How much higher humidity do you use? And, I am assuming they are in a turner..but perpendicular? ??

Cynthia were you setting eggs today too?? I know you already have eggs in the bator that are due soon :p

I set mine early. And still, no veining in those Trader Joe's.
