So today I went out to give the chicks a treat and a few of them were really panting. We live in Seattle and while it’s warm at times, it’s far from hot! The chicks have plenty of water and shade in their coop/ run. So I imagine they were thirsty, but how do I ensure they are getting enough water? I really have no sense of how much they eat/ drink in a day but they’ve been great until now so not sure what changed. Is there another reason they would be panting? Or something I’m overlooking??

Birds can pant for heat or stress.
How 'far from hot' in °F was it?
What kind of waterers are you using?
I think it was only 75 degrees? I ended up putting their beaks in the water and then settled after a while and stopped panting. For water we have a 5gallon bucket with water cups attached that prefill.
