9 day old chicks COCCIDIA HELP

Thank you! I was just telling my husband Need to make temporary dividers for the brooder for night time so they don’t wonder far from heat plate and get stuck in the dark. I will add the cloth to cover them to the list today. So do you recommend I up the dose to the actual dosage today and tomorrow? Tomorrow is day 5 of their Corid treatment. Should I add a few days at the correct dosage?
They shouldn't wander off at night and even if they do, the space isn't so large that they can't just scoot around until they find their way back to the heat source.

I don't know what dosages you've been using but I'd follow the instructions here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...ol-ampromed-the-correct-amprolium-dose.73341/ - after day 5 I'd lower to the maintenance dose for the additional 7 days as recommended.

I am SO HAPPY for you!!!

I'll let someone with cocci treatment experience answer about that, I haven't personally experienced it yet.

Oh, and you can put a child's night light in the room if you are worried about it being too dark in there at night. That would give the room a moonlit night level of light. I worry with a divider that they could get stuck on the wrong side of it.

Definitely need a screen lid, though.
Omg new fear unlocked! For tonight I used wide

omg new fear unlocked! For tonight I used wide boxed high enough they can’t jump over and wide enough that they won’t tip over. I tried a night light and I just still found it so dark in the brooder. Maybe I can add a dim one inside the brooder like on the wall? And I used blankets to cover the brooders until we build the screen lids for them:)

No need for a night light. IMO chicks do best with a natural day-night cycle so they're not eating around the clock. When the sun goes down they'll naturally crawl under their heat source and settle down for the night.

Do you have anything that's more permeable than a blanket? They need ventilation just as adults do. Window screens, chicken wire, bird netting that you can temporarily tape into place? Something like puppy or child proofing gates could just be laid on top and voila, lid.

I have them in my living room. I just moved have little to no furniture but I’ve got brooders and chicks! lol the blankets I use are just bed sheets very thin and I left it uncovered on one side for ventilation. Tomorrow thru Sunday we have a freeze warning and wind chill plus we don’t have where to put them outside yet like a shed or barn. The have been super distressed after switching them from the bins to the brooder but when I dimmed the lights and covered them they have fallen into some deep peep sleep lmao not a sound. I’m trying to mimic what goes with their circadian rhythm :)
