These chicks are about 9 weeks old now. Any guesses on gender? I am hoping for at least one hen. Please please please!

Me, too.For 9 weeks, I'd say they are both pullets
Australorps are great met birds (but also great layers/backyard chickens, should you decide to keep them).Oh wonderful news! That means double the amount of chocolate for my egg basket. I wasn't going to be too worried if I had one roo because I was going to introduce him to my Easter eggers for a chance at some olive egger chicks. I was really worried about Popper for a while because her comb was a little tiny bit larger than penny's but it hasn't really grown much and it hasn't turned bright red or anything. Now to worry about the two black austrolorps I bought from a Family Farm and Home bin as barred rock pullets that have as much comb and wattle as these marans and are two weeks younger. I'm still bummed about not getting barred rocks. If they turn out to be boys I don't know what I'll do. Do black austrolorps make a good roaster?
